Facility Cores

Facility Cores
A major function of the CEHS is to support Facility Cores which have multiple users. These cores are designed to provide groups of Center investigators with techniques, services, or instrumentation in a manner that will enhance the research in progress, consolidate effort, and contribute to cost effectiveness by providing a service at less cost and possibly higher quality than if each investigator were to attempt it individually.

The Biostatistics and Bioinformatics Facility Core (BBFC) provides CEHS with the needed expertise to apply state-of-the-art statistical methods to the design and analysis of all types of environmental health research studies, ranging from laboratory study design, analysis of multidimensional gene by environment interactions, and quantification of complex time-dependent exposures.

The Integrative Health Sciences Facility Core (IHSFC) supports CEHS investigators who conduct research using human study subjects.

The Systems Biology Facility Core (SBFC) brings together a wide array of advanced technologies available to CEHS researchers and provides the resources to assist investigators in the design and implementation of new studies to take maximal advantage of these powerful tools.
